Which diaper to use for your baby and how to wash it properly

With loads of recommendations on the web it is really hard to decide which diaper to buy for your baby. Selecting a diaper for your munchkin could really be confusing and might involve a lot of research. So to save your time and effort thought to share you what diapers I use for my baby and how many you need which might help you in planning to pick similar diapers for your baby.

1. Superbottoms Freesize UNO diaper: It is washable and reusable cloth diaper, made up of organic cotton, soft and gentle on your baby’s skin. It comes with one dry feel pad and one booster pad. It is an adjustable diaper and can be used for babies from 3 months to 3 years. It can actually hold urine up to 10-12 hours. If your baby is a heavy wetter still you can use it for longer hours. It has amazing absorbency. A heavy soaker. Best to be used for nights. It is easy to wash even if it gets soiled. You can have two of it. Keep one for reserve use.

2. Bumberry Baby Smart Nappy: It is a non padded diaper and can be used for 0-6 months old babies. It is also washable and adjustable. It has extra absorption layer stitched in and has waterproof outer layer. It can hold 2-3 urines and could be used for 3-4 hours. You can buy two of them and it can be used during afternoon nap or any nap of medium duration.

3. Cloth diaper: There is a huge range of normal cloth diapers/langot available in the market. Do not buy the ones that you have to stick. Buy the ones having knots to be tied. You can have a set of 4-5 of them which could be used throughout the day.

4. Normal Diaper: Keep a packet of any non-cloth/normal diaper from any of these brands (Pampers, MamyPoko, Huggies, Cuddles, Babyhug, HimalayaHerbal, Johnson'sbaby, MeeMee, Bella, Chicco). Use it when you are taking your baby outside or when all of your cloth nappies are wet.

Tips to wash cloth diapers:

1. Take half bucket of water and squeeze out some amount of liquid/powder detergent specially formulated for baby. (I use Luvlap liquid laundry detergent. You can get it from Amazon though you may choose any other.)

2. Add a little antiseptic liquid to it. (Instead of Dettol you can use Savlon as it is milder.)

3. Soak the diaper for a few minutes in the water. Rinse it thoroughly.

4. Wash the diaper again under plain water. Clean bad stains if any using a detergent bar.
